Digital Future Society will host a webinar on the recently published whitepaper titled, Beyond digital access as a human right in cities, produced in collaboration with United Nations University (UNU E-GOV).

This whitepaper explores the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation of urban areas, with insights from experts in five cities: Barcelona, Mexico City, Riga, Johannesburg and Toronto. Although cities worldwide are adopting human rights-based approaches to advance meaningful digital access, there are limitations and challenges that policymakers face in effectively advancing digital inclusion. This whitepaper proposes complimentary approaches, drawing from intersectionality and systems thinking, to help cities promote digital access, rights and agency in practice.

In this webinar, we will discuss with the author, Bushra Ebadi, on how cities can adopt an integrated multi-dimensional approach. We will also hear from a panel of experts as they will share their perspectives on their work on digital access and inclusion in cities.
