Digital Gender Gap: A gender-equality paradox?

UNESCO research on the ICT gender equality paradox gave a spotlight to one of the most curious phenomena in the gender divide. This paradox points out that many of the more oppressive nations regarding equal rights are the ones with higher percentages of women in ICT careers. In contrast, the opposite happens in more progressive countries.

As noted by the UNESCO publication, additional research can shine new light on causes of the digital skills gender gap and point the way towards meaningful policy prescriptions.
