As the leading programme to debate the ethical implications of digitalization in society, Digital Future Society will conduct several events in the MWC Barcelona 2022 to analyse the digital emergency.

From the 28th of february to the 3rd of march, our stand in the venue will be the center point of the ethical disscusions around technology, and experts and relevant stakeholders in the digitalization of society will participate in our daily events.

16h - Ministerial Programme: Digital Emergency in a world of accelerated digitalisation


The GSMA’s prestigious Ministerial Programme brings together the most influential telecommunications leaders from across the world. This unique forum expands knowledge, stimulates debate around current issues and provides an opportunity to engage with mobile industry experts on policy and regulatory topics. On this occasion, Digital Future Society will organize a high-level meeting around the Digital Emergency in a world of accelerated digitalisation. The Digital emergency in a world of accelerated digitalisation session will look at the asymmetries derived from this acceleration and on how to tackle new forms of digital divides and exclusion, highly visible in large metropolitan regions

11.30h - Preserving Democracy in the Age of Surveillance


Big Tech is here to stay, but it’s far from perfect. In this session, our panelists will debate how we can ensure democratic systems and values prevail where new technologies have proven to have the power to influence the development and shifting of public opinion with their private decisions.

12h - Deconstructing Disinformation


Digital Future Society organizes a debate to reflect on the evolution of the popularization of false information in the digital age, with the European Commission and the main organizations that work to detect and stop disinformation: Newtral, Efe Verifica and Verificat. During the session, the two pilot projects of the Tech Against Disinformation call will be announced.

Signing of the agreement between Mobile World Capital and the City Council of l'Hospitalet de LLobregat to carry out the "L'Hospitalet 6.0" project.

 

17h - Signature of the project agreement "Municipal Open Innovation Laboratory"


Signing of the agreement between Mobile World Capital/Digital Future Society and Aigües de Barcelona. The main objective of the Municipal Open Innovation Laboratory is to turn municipalities into testing laboratories, promoting global alliances within the innovation ecosystem and responding to real challenges of the territory at the local level, multiplying the impact through public-private collaboration and putting technology at the service of society.
