Digital transformation is continuously altering all aspects of society, from the way we live, work, and relate to each other, to the way our global economy works, disrupting almost every industry in every country. Although this digital age is full of opportunities and prospects, bringing solutions and applications as powerful drivers of productivity and innovation, generating efficiencies, and solving big problems in little time, it also entails lots of risks and policy challenges related to digital inclusion, human rights and social security, among others. Given the global nature of this digital transformation, we must acknowledge the need for shared goals and coordinated action to shape an inclusive and sustainable digital future, ensuring that we are working together towards the digital future that will benefit us all.
This conference is included in the OECD Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting, a meeting where will highlight the work done by the OECD on data access and reuse, digital security, the protection of minors in the digital world and connectivity, among others. At the same time, it will set the international agenda for the next few years on the digital economy and society of the OECD’s Digital Economy Policy Committee.
